<p>To provide technical assistance to the surgeon during procedures; and support and advise patients.&nbsp;</p><br><h3>Benefits</h3><br><h3>Task & responsibilities</h3><p style="margin-left:!important;"><strong>Dutues &amp; Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Assist the surgeon with clinical examination of eyes, including patient eye pressures, visual acuity, corneal topography and refraction.</li><li>Pre-Cataract Assessment including calculating IOL Power and ordering of lenses</li><li>Preoperative Pentacam</li><li>Assist the surgeon in refractive surgical procedures including PRESBYOND, SMILE, LASIK and PRK</li><li>Evaluate Strabismus / Squints</li><li>Act as patient screener / advisor, providing guidance about the different types of refractive surgery available.</li></ul><p style="margin-left:!important;"><strong>Essential Requirements:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Be proficient in the programming, operation and ongoing management of Zeiss Visumax platform and MEL90 Excimer laser.</li><li>Be fully conversant with Pachymetry and Perimetry (HUMPHERY) perimeters.</li><li>Function in a highly organized, and time efficient manner at all times.</li><li>Be able to problem solve in a surgical setting, meeting surgery timelines and carrying out required tasks.</li><li>Assisting the Surgeon to create, define, refine and manage Refractive protocols, procedures and workflows.Ensure all specialist medical services are delivered in a smooth and efficient manner.</li><li>Assist the Surgeon with clinical examination of Eyes, including patient eye pressures, Visual acuity, Corneal Topography and refraction</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><br><h3>Qualification & experience</h3><ul><li>Relevant qualification at the level of a diploma or higher.</li><li>Minimum two years’ experience required.</li><li>Experience with cloud based patient management / practice management software or similar medical practice software.</li><li>A well-developed knowledge base of Private billing for consultations and surgical procedures.</li><li>Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.</li><li>Demonstrated outstanding customer service and people skills.</li><li>The ability to relate well to patients and communicate with health care professionals/external health facilities as needed.</li><li>Demonstrate a high level of motivation and operate in cooperation with a surgical team with attention to detail.</li><li>Demonstrate an ability to multi-task within a fast-paced working environment. There is a high degree of patient admin.</li><li>Be able to take direction.</li><li>Work unsupervised and under own initiative.</li></ul>
