<p>Join Morrow Geotechnics as a <strong>Geotechnical Engineer</strong> in a varied, hands-on role combining fieldwork, technical reporting and project delivery.</p><p>You’ll work across a diverse range of projects throughout Sydney and the Illawarra, with the opportunity to take ownership of your work from site investigation through to interpretation and reporting. Working alongside an experienced geotechnical team, you’ll continue building your technical capability while contributing to practical, real-world engineering solutions.</p><br><h3>Benefits</h3><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>Four weeks of paid annual leave&nbsp;</li><li>10 days of paid personal/carer’s leave&nbsp;</li><li>Birthday leave – one paid day of leave in recognition of your birthday, as our birthday gift to you&nbsp;</li><li>Company-funded First Aid and CPR training, renewed annually&nbsp;</li><li>Training and professional development opportunities relevant to your role and career development&nbsp;</li><li>Ongoing technical support and mentoring from experienced Geotechnical Engineers and Engineering Geologists&nbsp;</li><li>Exposure to a broad range of geotechnical projects and disciplines&nbsp;</li><li>Opportunities to develop your technical, reporting and project management skills&nbsp;</li><li>Long-term career development within a growing consultancy</li></ul><br><h3>Task & responsibilities</h3><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>Undertaking geotechnical site investigations, including drilling supervision, soil and rock logging and sampling</li><li>Planning and coordinating field investigations with project managers, drilling contractors and other subcontractors</li><li>Construction-phase geotechnical inspections</li><li>Inclinometer installation, monitoring and interpretation</li><li>Groundwater monitoring and data collection</li><li>Accurate collection, interpretation and management of field and laboratory data</li><li>Preparation of factual and interpretive geotechnical reports</li><li>Developing geotechnical recommendations based on site conditions, investigation results and project requirements</li><li>Liaising with clients, contractors and other project consultants</li><li>Managing assigned projects from fieldwork through to reporting</li><li>Working across multiple projects at different stages of delivery</li><li>Supporting senior engineers with more complex geotechnical assessments and project requirements</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><br><h3>Qualification & experience</h3><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline</li><li>Minimum of one years work experience&nbsp;</li><li>Previous experience working in geotechnical engineering, including site investigation and reporting</li><li>Strong understanding of soil and rock logging and geotechnical investigation practices</li><li>Comfortable working both independently on site and in an office environment</li><li>Confident communicating with clients, contractors and project teams</li><li>Strong written communication and technical reporting skills</li><li>Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities</li><li>Willing to travel to project sites across Sydney, the Illawarra and surrounding areas</li><li>Current Australian driver's licence and ability to drive manual vehicle</li></ul>
